Mclaine Richardson joined Margaret Ellis Jewelry in 2009 as a production metal smith. Taking on more and more responsibility and showing a specific design aesthetic, Mclaine was entrusted with Ellis’ business upon her retirement in 2013. The now-owner of Margaret Ellis Jewelry, and graduate of University School of Nashville studied jewelry-making techniques at Lorenzo de Medici in Florence as well as at Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Art Studios.

Q: Where do you find design inspiration?
A: I find inspiration everywhere from Radnor Lake to Pinterest. I'm a very visual person, so just about anything can spark an idea. I also have the added benefit of owning 30 years of Margaret's designs. I find a lot of inspiration in her old catalogs.

Q: What can we expect from your line this spring and summer?
A: Spring and summer scream color to me so I'm adding colored stones to my metal pieces this season. I just completed a green tourmaline and peridot line that I'm really excited about and have become rather obsessed with white druzys. I love the rough stones. I just found some amazing turquoise that has inspired the summer collection I'm currently working on and look forward to its response at the NYC market in May. - See more at: http://nashvillelifestyles.com/entertainment/fashion-designers-in-nashville#sthash.AlPv4OzZ.dpuf
