bio
I first studied jewelry at Middle Tennessee State with Klaus Kallenberger. At the time, I was an art teacher for Metro Nashville Schools, where I taught for many years. When I discovered that making jewelry was my life’s calling, I stopped teaching and started learning, taking classes first at Arrowmont, then at the Appalachian Craft Center and for several summers at Penland School.

When I first started doing jewelry professionally, I aimed at the fashion market, taking my work to New York. Over the years, it has been featured in every major fashion magazine and has been sold in Henri Bendel, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Saks and many other specialty stores and galleries in this country, Europe, and Japan.

Gradually my work has evolved from fashion pieces to jewelry that is more art-oriented. While I continue to do a production line in sterling silver, I focus more on one-of-a-kind pieces in 22-karat gold, with unusual stones and pearls.
